In light of the recent New Zealand terror attack and in remembrance of all previous terror attacks, Canterbury Mosque and Kent Islamic student union have decided to bring our Friday service out into the public. We will have a sermon and prayer as usual which will start at 1:15pm and will end around 1:45pm. Throughout this time we will be holding placards against terrorism and supporting unity.
We will then have speeches from a few locals and VIPs. This will conclude with refreshments at the Mosque which is a two minute walk.
We will begin the prayers at 1:15pm in front of the Venue (university club).
We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. This is an example to the whole world once again that no matter how hard these bigots and extremists try to divide our communities we simply will not be divided. Rather we will unite stronger than ever before.
Look forward to seeing you all on Friday 22/03/2019 at 1:15pm
In light of the recent terror attacks we have received an incredible amount of support from our friends, neighbors and brothers and sisters in humanity. We want to thank all of you for thinking of us in these difficult times and thank you for showing your support to the victims by coming to the mosque and laying flowers.
Once again we have proven to the terrorists that we will not be divided no matter how hard they try.
United we stand, divided we fall.
On Sunday 3rd March, we will once again be opening our doors to the public. Our doors will be open from 12pm-5pm. The day will consist of tours, refreshments, performances, talks from guests and an open Q&A. Please do visit us and bring your friends and families.
This year we will also have a special talk about our construction which has finally begun.
We look forward to seeing you all there!!!Read More
