CMCC Elections Report

We are pleased to announce the results of the CMCC elections held on Saturday the 04th of December 2021. All eligible members were able to vote in-person (at Canterbury Mosque) and online on a secure website on the Internet. The voting started at 10:00 am until 06:00 pm.

Executive Committee: Results

All Candidates were successful in securing more than 50% of the votes. This confirms that the majority of the Muslim community who voted today have shown support and confidence in the candidates who nominated themselves. Alhamdulillah.

The election committee can confirm the names of the newly elected executive committee are as follows:

  • President: Mohamed Mahmoud Ali
  • Vice-President: Ahmad Massoud Sabour.
  • Assistant General Secretary: Buchra Tari
  • Treasurer: Nasirdeen Alimi
  • Committee Member: Shehrazade Maria Saraiva Mamjan
  • Committee Member: Maliha Karamat

Note: The “Committee Members” will be appointed a position that will be decided in the first meeting of the new elected executive committee.

The Election Committee would like to remind the new executive members of their obligation to consider selecting 3 co-opted members as per the constitution.

The Election Committee would like to congratulate all the candidates not only for securing the people’s vote but for putting themselves forward to serve the Muslim Community and the mosque.

We appreciate your participation in the process of exercising your right to vote.

May Allah help and guide them and us all. The Election Committee has tried it’s best to make this difficult task fair, just and transparent. May Allah forgive our shortcomings.
